Fish Ledger

The credit book for fish traders.

Fish Ledger is a mobile app for Android and iOS that fish traders use to record credit sales, track what each customer owes, log payments by cash, cheque and bank transfer, and close out each day's takings. It works without an internet connection, and can back up your records to your own Google Drive.

What Fish Ledger does

Fish Ledger is an app for fish traders who sell on credit — wholesalers and market suppliers who hand over stock today and are paid days or weeks later, in cash, by cheque, or by bank transfer. Keeping that straight in a notebook means forgotten debts, arguments over what was paid, and no way to see the whole picture.

Fish Ledger replaces that notebook. It records every credit sale and every payment, tracks what each customer owes, follows cheques through clearing and bouncing, and closes out each day with a handover total that matches the cash in hand.

Customer balances

Every customer's outstanding amount, aged by your own credit terms.

Collections worklist

A daily round of who to collect from, ordered by how overdue they are.

Cheques and transfers

Track pending, deposited, cleared and bounced — balances follow automatically.

Daily closing

Cash, cheques and expenses reconciled into one handover figure.

Reports and exports

Receivables, sales and collections as PDF or Excel, any time.

Full audit trail

Every edit and void recorded, so any number can be traced back.

Works without internet

Your records live in a database on your own phone. Fish Ledger has no server of its own — sales, payments and closings are recorded and read entirely on the device, whether you are at the market, in a truck, or somewhere with no signal at all.

An internet connection is only needed for one optional feature: backing up to your own Google Drive.

Backup to your own Google Drive

A phone can be lost, stolen or dropped in water. Fish Ledger can keep an encrypted copy of your records in your own Google Drive, so you can restore everything onto a new phone.

This is optional and off until you turn it on. When you connect, Google asks your permission for two things:

PermissionWhat Fish Ledger uses it for
drive.file Create and manage the backup files Fish Ledger itself creates. It gives no access to any other file in your Drive — photos, documents and everything else stay invisible to the app.
drive.appdata Store the encryption key for your backups in your Google account's private application storage. Keeping the key with your account — never with us — is what lets you restore on a new phone by signing in, with no password to remember and no way for anyone else to read the backup.

Backups are encrypted on your phone with AES-256-GCM before they are uploaded. The key never leaves your Google account. MS Dev Studio operates no server and never receives a copy of your business records.

You can disconnect at any time from inside the app, delete the backups from your Drive, or revoke Fish Ledger's access from your Google account permissions page.

Privacy

No advertising. No analytics. No trackers. Your customers' names, balances and phone numbers are yours, they stay on your phone, and they are never sold or shared.

The privacy policy sets out exactly what is collected and what is not.
